Ship Facilities

From perfume and jewellery to smart suits and shorts, the shops on board stock a wide range of products. Our larger ships have shops dedicated to fine fragrances and sparkling jewellery, while across the rest of the fleet you’ll find a selection of our most popular products. We stock a range of clothing which includes glamorous formal wear and casual beach items, alongside holiday essentials such as sun cream, books and toothpaste. Art lovers have the opportunity to purchase pieces from our exclusive on-board collection and there’s great savings to be made in the photo gallery on camera equipment, frames and albums.

Onboard Loyalty and Cruise sales desk

Each ship has two dedicated Loyalty and Cruise sales managers. They’re on board to ensure that booking your next holiday is as easy as possible. Here to both inform and inspire, they are destination experts who have travelled extensively on our ships. They’ll gladly share their personal, first-hand experiences to help you decide where in the world you might explore next.

If you love to have fresh flowers in your cabin or would like to surprise a loved one, we offer a wide range of displays for any occasion. Created on board by our professional florists, they include rose arrangements and bouquets, tropical arrangements, occasion bouquets, corsages and buttonholes.

On-Board Photography

Our team of professional photographers have a wealth of experience and knowledge across a multitude of photographic styles and disciplines, and each cruise they offer a selection of engaging and informative photography talks to enrich your holiday. We are passionate about images and are available every day to capture those special moments of your cruise, from parties and events to formal portraits and adventures in our beautiful ports of call.

All of your cruise photographs are available to view 24 hours a day on our fantastic Photo Now digital ordering system and our team will be happy to assist you during gallery open hours. If you’re looking for something extra special to remember your holiday, be sure to ask about our exquisite Photo Books or Cruise DVD, created on board for you to share with friends and family at home.

For more information please visit the Photo Gallery to speak with any member of our friendly staff.

Laundry and Specialist Cleaning

Make the most of your voyage and let our team take care of all your laundry needs while on board. P&O offer a complete laundry service including washing, ironing and specialist cleaning for a nominal fee.  An express ‘same day’ and standard 48 hour service are available. Self-service washing machines, dryers and ironing boards are available in the ship’s launderette.

On board each ship you’ll find a well stocked library at your disposal. On the shelves are all the latest bestsellers, literary classics, non-fiction favourites and informative travel guides. Like any library at home, simply pop along and loan whatever catches your eye.

Duty Free

Our ships stock an extensive range of duty free items. If you would like to make a purchase, you simply need to place your order in the duty free shop once on board and then collect it from the duty free shop at the end of your cruise.

When travelling from a non-EU country (including the Canary Islands, the Channel Islands and Gibraltar) you can bring the following into the UK for your personal use without paying UK tax or duty:

Wines and Spirits

Spirits, strong liqueurs over 22% vol 1 litre

or fortified or sparkling wines and some liqueurs 2 litres

plus still table wine 4 litres

plus beer 16 litres

Tobacco Products

Cigarettes 200

or Cigarillos 100

or Cigars 50

or Tobacco 250gms

£300 worth of all other goods including perfume and souvenirs

Medical centre

Each ship has a well-equipped medical centre, staffed by doctors and nurses -probably the only facility we hope you never use! All our medical centres hold the distinction of being the first and only facilities in the industry to be accredited by the prestigious CHKS certified to ISO 9001: 2008. Our ships are outside the scope of the NHS and medical treatment is charged at private rates – though you will find your holiday insurance covers most eventualities.

Each ship is fully stabilised and bad conditions at sea are rare, so the large majority of passengers will be unaffected by seasickness. For those who are affected, be reassured that the Ship’s Doctor can treat seasickness at an early stage with either tablets or an injection. We recommend that you bring your own supply of tablets. Homeopathic remedies are available for purchase in the shops on board.
